Analysis Argumentation

Frans H. van Eemeren, A. Fransisca (2000:7) Argumentation is an introduction to analizing, evaluating and presenting oral and written argumentation. that is a verbal, social, and rational activity aimed at convincing a reasonable critic of acceptability of a certain opinion by advancing one or more proposition designed to justify that standpoint. (2000:9)

People engage in argumentation to resolving the two difference opinion. the ideas have different position with respect to the other parties ideas. to resolve this problem, they have to appreciate someone's opinion. they can make some kind of agreement to keep the debate well.

the different between explicit and implicit difference of option is a consequence to discuss between two parties. It's not be the case that the second party thinking the opposite way. for example, one party puts forward what they're thinking about and other party express doubt about it. they have to appreciate each other opinion with the acceptable statement.

the difference between positive and negative standpoint is about proposition. there are two-side on opinion each other party. they are proposition and opposition. instead of them, there is neutral position. proposition such as a positive, a negative, or a neutral can be taken. the parties have to committed himself with his position of their ideas.

the difference between standpoints and expression of doubt is often extremely difficult to differentiate. need to know that expression of doubt can also mean as a neutral position. i think this is not a full debate, because neutral position is in the middle of the positive- negative side. we can call them grey-side or non-block side. we cannot claim that expression of doubt is save-side according to them not choose proposition or opposition way. because expression of doubt is someone's way of thinking.

Ground Rules

Ground Rules: 1st Draft

  1. All comments should be respectful. We can and should disagree with the ideas, not people. This discussion group should feel safe for everyone.
  2. All comments should be clearly and directly related to the discussion topic and related to what others have said.
  3. Comment should look professional. Consider spelling and grammar (you’re English students, after all), write in full words rather than chat-speak (don’t use “u” instead of “you” or other non-standard written forms), don’t use all capital letters (that feels like shouting), and don’t use any emoticons symbols like J (Remember that you can click “Edit” to edit your own message.)
  4. Focus on ideas. Paraphrase (and cite the source) if you read something useful and wish to add or refer to that idea in the discussion.
  5. Give credit where credit is due. If you share useful that you have found on the internet, include the URL so that others can also read the full article or visit the site. Do not just copy and paste into the message without a citation – that is plagiarism.
  6. When you respond to someone else’s idea (a very good thing), make sure you mention the person’s name and repeat enough of their idea that everyone is clear about what is being discussed.
  7. Remember that our goal is to help each other. We’re learning from all of you as well, so helping is a multi-way street.
Yes, i do agree about this rules. it makes us feel free to commented our friend's essay. it is need to organize the comment.
my additional suggestion is :
-. please dont junk someone's blog. (example : write "pertamax" or "page one, bro". or just "nice compo" without comment anything)
-. dont promote/advertise anything (example : internet store, request for vote something, request for adding something, etc)
-. dont post any big resolution picture. because that is bandwidth killer.

and my last suggestion is give a reward for the best comment. like a "cendol" in kaskus or "best answer" in yahoo answer.

Essay Writing 1 with new tech

This semester i took my first class of essay writing. this is something new for me. i had to improve my composition skill to survive in this subject. i hope i could get a great score in this writing class.

Our lecture in this class is Mr. Alvii. He introduced the new method of essay writing for this semester. He moved our class from the regular class into the computer lab. he asked to post our writing project to our own blog. this method makes our text can be read by anyone.

I hope my writing creation can be useful for all readers who read my composition.
Thanks.
